Bajaj Dominar 400 Update Teased: New Features, Tech & Possible Power Bump Incoming

Bajaj Auto has stirred excitement among motorcycle enthusiasts by teasing a significant update to its flagship Dominar 400 on social media. This long-awaited refresh could finally bring the popular power cruiser up to speed with the latest tech seen in Bajaj’s own lineup, especially from the recently launched Pulsar NS400Z.

What’s New in the 2025 Bajaj Dominar 400?

The updated Dominar 400 is expected to receive several feature upgrades, with the most notable being a new full-LCD digital instrument cluster, similar to the one on the NS400Z. This means riders can look forward to:

  • Riding modes

  • Switchable ABS modes

  • Traction control

  • Bluetooth connectivity

This marks a big leap from the existing setup, which features a split-console layout with a main LCD display and a quirky tank-mounted strip for secondary information like tell-tale lights and gear indicator. With this update, the tank-mounted display is likely to be retired in favor of a more integrated user experience.

Performance Updates on the Horizon

The current Dominar 400 is powered by a 373cc, single-cylinder engine derived from KTM’s older generation motor, producing 40hp and 35Nm of torque. This engine has remained mechanically unchanged since the USD fork upgrade back in 2019. However, there are strong indications that Bajaj could be retuning this engine for more power, similar to what's expected on the updated Pulsar NS400Z.

Although there’s no official confirmation yet, the upgraded Dominar could benefit from:

  • A more powerful state of tune

  • Improved brakes and tyres

  • Enhanced cooling and fuel mapping for refined performance

These improvements would help the Dominar maintain its edge in the increasingly competitive segment of high-capacity, value-for-money street bikes.

What About the Dominar 250?

While the focus is clearly on the 400cc model, there's a possibility that the Dominar 250 might receive similar cosmetic or tech updates down the line. However, Bajaj hasn't teased or hinted at an upgrade for the 250 just yet.

Current Pricing and Color Options

The all new Bajaj Dominar 400 is priced at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in three attractive shades:

  • Aurora Green

  • Charcoal Black

  • Vine Black (Red graphics)

The Dominar 250, on the other hand, retails at Rs 1.92 lakh (ex-showroom) and is offered in dual-tone combinations like:

  • White/Red

  • White/Grey

  • White/Yellow

Final Thoughts: A Much-Needed Refresh for a Cult Favorite

The Bajaj Dominar 400 has carved out a loyal fanbase since its launch, offering a unique blend of performance, comfort, and touring capabilities. However, it has lagged behind in tech compared to competitors. This upcoming update could finally put it back on the map, especially if Bajaj also introduces a more aggressive engine tune and premium features.
